Explain the six classifications and material uses of engineering plastics for extruded pipes

2019-08-13

The six classifications of engineering plastics for extruded pipes are ABS, polyamide PA, polycarbonate PC, polyoxymethylene POM, chlorinated polyether and polysulfone. The material properties and uses are described in detail below.

ABS树脂

I. ABS engineering plastics ABS pipe can be molded with a resin with a density of 1.02-1.06g/cm3. According to the conditions of use of the pipe, ABS resin of different mechanical properties types, such as high impact type and high rigidity type, can be selected; according to the use temperature requirements, different heat resistance grades can be selected, and the general-grade ABS heat distortion temperature is 91-93 ° C, ABS heat distortion temperature of different heat resistance grade is 96-122 ° C; when there is flame retardant requirement, flame retardant grade ABS should be selected.

2. Polyamide PA The polyamide PA used for extrusion molding of the pipe should have a higher viscosity and be easy to form. PA11 can be used to produce hard tubes and hoses for transporting gasoline; PA12 can be used to produce a variety of tubing and hoses; PA1010 can be used to produce pressure tubes.

Third, polycarbonate PC has good formability, and the extruded pipe should use a melt fluid rate of 3.5-7g/10min. According to the requirements of pipe use, you can choose transparent or opaque resin, blend alloy material, glass fiber reinforced material or flame retardant material.

Fourth, polyoxymethylene POM Extrusion pipe polyoxymethylene POM has homo-formaldehyde and copolymerized formaldehyde, generally do not need to add other additives. The homopolyoxymethylene melt flow rate suitable for extrusion is 1.0-9.0 g/10 min, which is divided into three viscosity grades; the copolymerized formaldehyde generally has a high melt viscosity, and the melt fluid rate is about 2.5 g/10 min.

5. Chlorinated polyether The chlorinated polyether used for the extrusion tube should be a resin with an intrinsic viscosity of 0.8-2.0, and its melting point is 176 °C. The ash content in the resin should be less than 0.2%.

6. Polysulfone tubes mainly act on electrically insulated tubes and high temperature resistant tubes. The resin is generally selected to have a viscosity of 0.5-0.6*10-3Pa.s, and the water content is required to be 0.05%.
